Job Description: Youth Director
Position Title: Youth Director
Reports To: Pastor
Status: Part-Time or Bi-Vocational
Location: Beacon Bay Baptist Church, Livingston, Texas
Purpose:
The Youth Director serves as a vital member of Beacon Bay Baptist Church’s ministry team, called to disciple and shepherd students in grades 1–12. This individual will lead youth and children’s ministry with a Christ-centered vision, grounded in the authority of Scripture and in alignment with the church’s doctrinal beliefs, constitution and by-laws. The Youth Director is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all student-related activities, with a heart for teaching, serving, and fostering spiritual growth in the next generation.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Oversight:
- Provide spiritual leadership and biblical teaching to students in grades 1–12.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate, Christ-honoring curriculum for Sunday School and Wednesday night activities.
- Recruit, train, and support teachers and volunteers from the church body to assist with teaching and events.
- Routinely review all curriculum and ministry plans with the Senior Pastor prior to implementation.
2. Event and Program Management:
- Organize and lead participation in church-wide events such as the Fall Festival, Holiday Specials, and seasonal children/youth presentations.
- Plan, coordinate, and attend youth and children’s camps, retreats, and off-site events.
- Oversee all logistics for transportation to and from church-related youth activities, ensuring safety protocols and supervision are in place.
3. Administrative and Communication Duties:
- Communicate regularly with parents, volunteers, and church leadership regarding upcoming activities, needs, and student progress.
- Maintain records of attendance, participation, and transportation needs.
- Ensure all volunteers and workers are properly screened and comply with church safety and child protection policies.
Qualifications:
- A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a lifestyle that reflects spiritual maturity.
- A sincere calling to serve and teach the Word to children and youth, demonstrated through previous experience, training or Holy Spirit led desire.
- Must successfully pass a background check and comply with all church safety policies.
- Agreement with the doctrinal beliefs of Beacon Bay Baptist Church and willingness to serve under pastoral authority.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to recruit and motivate volunteers and relate well to both students and parents.

Accountability:
The Youth Director will report directly to the Pastor. All curriculum, teaching content, and event plans must be submitted for pastoral review and approval in a timely manner. Regular evaluations and meetings will be conducted to ensure the health and alignment of the ministry with the church’s mission.
